Darren Robinson gains employment through The Job Gym

Learners also come to The Job Gym to renew and update existing qualifications they have that have either changed or expired, in order to get ahead in the workplace. This was the case for Darren Robinson.
Darren passed his Forklift Truck (FLT) license in 1997, and when he was in the job centre one day, he
expressed interest in renewing his license. He discovered The Job Gym after finding our parent company, Mantra Learning, online.

He quickly discovered that renewing his FLT License would not be as simple as driving through a chicane like in the 90's, and that he had to sit various courses in order to get funding. This included Warehouse and Storage Levels 1 and 2, and the newly developed 'Getting Social Media Savvy' course.

Since coming to our Middleton site, Darren's confidence has improved dramatically. He stated that his "confidence has been boosted in so many different ways". Darren had almost given up, but coming to The Job Gym and sitting our courses gave him the assurance that he could be employed once again.

When he was asked about his experiences with us, he said: "So many doors opened, the staff have been amazing ... I felt like part of a family here."

One of Darren's biggest fears was going for a job interview, but he was relieved to discover that Job Gym even provide job interview training and tips.

"It's been a good experience and I'd just like to thank everyone at Mantra. Thank you for the support"

We would like to wish Darren the best of luck for the future in his full time role at Transbridge Freight.
