6.7 Million Adults in the UK have no qualifications
According to a report by the Department for Education in 2022, approximately 6.7 million adults in the UK aged between 19 and 64 have no qualifications. This represents around 16% of the UK's working-age population. The report also highlights that those with no qualifications are more likely to be unemployed or have lower earnings than those with qualifications.

Why are these qualifications important?
-
Communication: English is the language of communication in most workplaces, and being able to read, write, and speak fluently in English can help you communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers. Similarly, basic maths skills are often required for tasks such as measuring, calculating, and managing budgets.
-
Problem-solving: Maths skills are also important for problem-solving, which is a key aspect of many jobs. Basic maths skills can help you interpret and analyse data, make calculations, and solve numerical problems.
-
Employability: Having good English and maths skills can make you more employable and increase your earning potential. Employers often look for candidates who can demonstrate these skills on their CV or during interviews, and may even require a certain level of English and maths qualifications for certain roles.
-
Career advancement: English and maths skills can also help you progress in your career by opening up opportunities for further training and education. For example, you may need to pass English and maths assessments to enroll in college or university courses.
